At the end to my snowy walk on Sunday I found myself wandering into the lovely Saint Sebald church, reconstructed in the late 1940s, home to Nuremberg baroque composer, Johann Pachelbel, who was organist of the church.
Ciao everyone,
I just returned from a quick trip to Nuremberg to see friends and colleagues.
Fresh off the plane I enjoyed a Sunday morning walk through the Altstadt. Here are a few pics:

For those of you inspired by visions of the mountains and their role in quests for understanding, as was my father, please rent this Frank Capra film from 1937, Lost Horizon .
You won't be disappointed ....
I realize that many of you may have already seen this film from 1997, but I had the chance to watch it again this evening for the second time.
If you haven't yet seen it, and if you hope for or need a pause, this film continues to offer a hopeful and intriguing sense of wonder ...
Buona notte.

A quick shout out to my good friend, Scott Pugh, whom many of you will remember. He would have been 39 today.
He is sorely missed.
Given that he was known also as the "Partaker", please raise a glass in this new year, partake of a good drink, and salute herr Pugh, a truly splendid human being.
While enjoying a fabulously heartening bowl of la professoressa Coleman's zuppa di lentiche, I was reminded that there are those in my family who remain big fans of the good Arthur Schwartz, food critic and Italophile. You may enjoy a few recipes ....
